What personal data we collect and why we collect it

We strive to keep personal data collection to an absolute minimum and strictly for cases of website analytics and communication initiated by the user. Because we do participate in advertising and affiliate programs, however, we do expose the user to the data collection practices of third party entities. Please see the “Cookies and Web beacons” clause below for more information on this.

No financial data is collected or stored by Tribalfeast.com.

Contact Forms

We are the sole owners of the information collected on this site through webforms. We only have access to/collect information that you voluntarily give us via email or other direct contact from you. We will not share, sell, or rent this information to anyone.

We will use your information to respond to you regarding the reason you contacted us. We will not share the information you submit with any third party outside of our organization, other than as necessary to fulfill your request, e.g. to ship an order.

Unless you ask us not to, we may contact you via email in the future to tell you about special events, new products or services, or changes to this privacy policy.

Log Files

As with most websites, we collect and use the data contained in log files. The information in the log files include your IP (internet protocol) address, your ISP (internet service provider, such as Verizon or Comcast), the browser you used to visit our site (such as Chrome or Firefox), the time you visited our site, and which pages you visited throughout our site.

Cookies and Web Beacons

This website uses third party advertisements to provide financial support. Some of these advertisers may use technology such as cookies and web beacons when they advertise on our site, which will also send these advertisers (such as Google through the Google AdSense program) information including your IP address, your ISP, and the browser you used to visit our site. This is generally used for geotargeting purposes (showing New York real estate ads to someone in New York, for example) or showing certain ads based on specific sites visited (such as showing cooking ads to someone who frequents cooking sites).

You can choose to disable or selectively turn off our cookies or third-party cookies in your browser settings, or by managing preferences in programs such as Norton Internet Security. However, this can affect how you are able to interact with our site as well as other websites. This could include the inability to login to services or programs, such as logging into forums or accounts.

Affiliate Programs

This site is a participant in affiliate advertising programs such as the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. Affiliate advertising programs are designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to outside products and services. Some of these affiliate advertisers may use technology such as cookies and web beacons to track you when you click a link to their website.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Analytics

We use automatic data collection technology (Google Analytics) to collect certain information about your device, browsing actions, and patterns as you use this website. This generally includes information about where you are, how you use our website, and any communications between your computer and this site. Among other things, we will collect data about the type of computer you use, your Internet connection, your IP address, your operating system, and your browser type.

We collect this data for statistical purposes and we don’t collect personal information.  The purpose of this data is to improve our website and offerings.

If you wish to opt out of Google Analytics so that none of your personal information is collected and stored by Google Analytics, you can download and install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on here.  For more information on how Google collects and uses your data, you can access the Google Privacy Policy here.

Who we share your data with

We don’t sell, rent, or share your data with anyone.  We do use a 3rd party email provider to store your email address if you voluntarily signed up for our email newsletter.  The privacy policy for MailChimp can be found here.

How long we retain your data

If you visit our website, anonymized information such as meta data collected for analytical purposes is retained indefinitely. This is so we can continue to improve our content and user experience.

What rights you have over your data

You can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
